AS FREE NABCEP PV INSTALLER™ PREP ONLINE CLASS CATCHES ON ACROSS THE GLOBE
Solpowerpeople’s “Massive Open Online Course” Is Uniting the PV Industry In A Collaborative Training Mission To Create Jobs By Helping Expand the Pool of Certified PV Installers
AUSTIN, TX: Long-time electrical industry training author, Mike Holt, has signed on as a Guest Lecturer for SolPowerPeople, Inc.’s FREE NABCEP PV Installer™ Exam Prep “Massive Open Online Course”, #SolarMOOC, set to kick-off Thursday, 3/1/12. This exciting development is the latest in the thrilling launch of this new online solar training offering that has literally gone viral. Participants are enrolling from all over the world, in a structured collaborative network connecting PV technology experts and PV design and installation practitioners.
“Creating a skilled, highly-trained PV workforce is the key to creating jobs and securing our nation’s energy future. I am excited to connect with anyone who is helping bring more people into the industry, and look forward to sharing my experience and knowledge with as many people as possible,” says Holt.
Mike Holt broke into the solar training curriculum market in 2011 with a series of new textbooks and multi-media training materials. Holt’s Understanding the NEC Requirements for Solar Photovoltaic Systems, textbook and DVD series are being adopted in advanced solar training programs at electrical training centers, community colleges, and other PV training providers. “The books are rich in graphics and diagrams, contain relevant code references and explanations, and take what is seen by many as complicated material and make it easy to understand in a straightforward, direct way,” says Richard Stovall, CEO of SolPowerPeople, Inc. and experienced advanced PV Instructor who has used Holt’s materials since they first came onto the market. “Our SPV3000 Advanced PV Design & Installation Workshop curriculum is built around Mike Holt’s solar PV and NEC code training materials. The feedback we get from students tells the whole story; they love it!”
Holt and Stovall served on a NABCEP committee in 2011 to develop secondary resources for NABCEP’s new PV Installer™ Exam Study Guide that was launched in October, 2011. The #SolarMOOC is bringing together many of the most respected PV experts to volunteer their time to help candidates for one of the trade industry’s most challenging credential exams.
