On Thursday June 28th, SolPowerPeople proudly welcomes Farah Sheriff, of the RETScreen Clean Energy Project Analysis development team to demonstrate how to use the RETScreen software for one of it’s many applications: photovoltaic system design. Farah will introduce potential issues faced by many regions of the world including Tibet, Botswana, Swaziland, Kenya, Finland, Canada, Morocco and Brazil and explain the different system design requirements that must be considered in these various atmospheres, climates, and social situations. Mrs. Sheriff will demonstrate the RETScreen software in action, and explain how it is used to evaluate a diverse range of energy efficiency potentials. Specific examples will be covered in solar PV system design using the RETScreen software program giving participants a firsthand view of the application and potential behind RETScreen analysis.
Interested individuals are encouraged to download this software for free from the photovoltaic portal of the RETScreen website:
As a member of the development team at RETScreen, Farah Sheriff prepares technical documentation and offers technical support for software integration. Sheriff has been working in the renewable energy and energy efficiency field for more than 11 years. Her accreditations include a Bachelors of Applied Science of Electrical Engineering from the Universite de Sherbrooke and a Masters of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal.
